Skiing in the Silver State is no gamble: most of Nevada’s ski areas are located in the stunning Lake Tahoe area. There are five resorts within the Tahoe basin and another 10 outside it. The Tahoe area, with its varied terrain and epic snow, is one of the best places to ski in North America. Did you know that there is a ski area only about an hour away from Las Vegas? Spend the day skiing or riding at Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort and be back in time for an evening out on the Strip. The Reno-Tahoe (RNO) airport is by far the most used for getting to the Tahoe slopes, but there is also an airport in Las Vegas (LAS). Although it’s usually warm in the desert, be prepared for chilly temperatures while skiing.
